Admission

Application form along with admission information booklet/prospectus are supplied by the College immediately after publication of class-X (H.S.C) result by the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa for admission to Higher Secondary (+2) Classes, and after the publication of Higher Secondary (+2) result by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha for admission to Degree (+3) Classes till the last date of submission of application, as notified by the Principal.

Application Form is supplied till the last date of submission of aplication, on payment of requisite fee at the counter situated inside the college premises, Admission Information. Booklet/Prospectus provides admission information in details and the admission fees to be deposited.

A Candidate desirous of being considered for admission to Arts and Science of either +2 or +3 Classes is required to submit separate applications, one each for Arts and Science Classes.

Last date for receipt of applications

Unless otherwise notifed, the Application Forms duly filled in are usually received by the college office up to the 15th day of the publication of the Annual results and up to the 7th day of the publication of Supplementary and Instant Examination results of B.S.E. Orissa and C.H.S.E, Odisha, respectively as applicable for admission into respective classes.


HIGHER SECONDARY COURSE

Eligibility for Admission

A candidate passing the High School Certificate Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or some other examination recognized by the Council as equivalent there to Examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, India School Certificate Examination and the Board of secondary Education of other States in India.

Last Date for Admission

No student shall ordinarily be admitted into an institution six weeks after the date of reopening of the institution or from the date of publication of results of the Annual High School Certificate Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa, whichever is later, provided that the Council may permit a student two weeks more for admission with a late fee of Rs.10/- II. A candidate who passes the Suplementary High School Certificate Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, may be admitted to an institution within three weeks after the publication of results, provided that the council may extend the date of admission by 10 days with late fee of Rs. 10/- III. Where the council grants recognition to an Institution or permits increase of seats in any Institution, the date of issue of such order shall be regarded as the date of reopening of the Institution for the purpose of admission; and the provision aplicable in the case of candidates passing the Supplementary Examination, shall be made applicable in such cases and the percentage of attendance shall be counted from the date of admission of the candidate.Memo No. 5807 (38) CHSE Dated 19.5.2000 from Sri D. Purchase of syllabus by each student admitting into +2 1st year has been made compulsory and each student is requested to obtain a copy of the syllabus from the college on payment of the cost on the very day of admission. DEGREE COURSE

Eligibility for Admission

Any candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa or any other Qualifying excamination ecognised by Academic Council or CHSE, Orissa as equivalent thereto may be admitted to the first year of this course provided that a student shall not be admitted into Degree Course in Science unless he has passed the qualifying examination in Science.

Last Date for Admission

I. No student shall ordinarily be admitted into the First Year of the course four weeks (including holidays and Sundays) after the date of publication of the results of the Annual Higher Secondary Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa or after the reopening of the Summer Vacation which ever is later, In exceptional cases, the appropriate authority may notify the last date of admission.

II. Candidates who, for some valid reasons, are unable to take admission within the time prescribed under above regulation may however be admitted into a college within two weeks (including holidays and Sundays) from the last date of admission with a late fee as prescribed by the University. The Principal of the College shall intimate the name of such candidates and their dates of admission and shall remit the late fee collected to the University in one lot within two weeks from the date of such late admission.

III. Candidates, who have taken late admission, on payment of the late fee, shall have the percentage of lectures counted from the date of such admission.

IV. Candidates passing the instant Higher Secondary Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa may ba admitted within one week thereafter with a late fee as prescribed by the University for each candidate. A candidate so admitted shall have the percentage of lectures counted from the date of his admission.

V. Admission to the second and third year course shall be completed within two weeks of the reopening of the Colleges without waiting for the publication of results of the first and second University examinations respectively provided that the students may be admitted to the second or third year, as the case may be, within a further period of two weeks, including Sundays and holidays, on payment of a later fee as prescribed by the University for each student.

VI. Provided further that students, who could not appear the University examination due to shortage of attendance, shall be allowed to take readmission in the same year at the beginning of the immediate subsequent academic session subject to the availability of seats. Preference shall be given to the students who have secured higher marks in the last CHSE or University Examination, as the case may be.

VII. Not withstanding anything contained in the preceding regulations, where the syndicate of the University, permits increase of seat in any class or gives fresh affiliation to any new subject in any college, the date of issue of such order shall be deemed as the date of publication of results of Council of Higher Secondary Education Orissa for the purpose of admission thereto.

VIII. A candidate whose results of Higher Secondary Examination are published late by the Examination Authority, may be admitted into the college within two weeks of the publication of his/her results depending on the availability of seats provided that no students can be admitted into +31st year class beyond 31st December of the concerned academic year.

IX. A student admitted to a College under Utkal University or under another University in the Three Year Degree Course may be admitted in the Course in another College under Utkal University on transfer/migration, subject to the conditions as laid down in Statute 234(1) and (2) of the Orissa Universities First Statue, 1980.

X. The Directorate of the Correspondence Course of the University shall be treated as a College for the purpose of these regulations. Not transfer, however will be permitted from the Directorate to any College, after the due date as prescribed above at para-1 & 2

Change of Subject (s):
XI. A candidate who has been admitted into a college with particular subject(s) or combination of subjects into the first year may be allowed change of subject(s) or combination of subjects by the Principal till thirty days after the last date of admission into first year course as prescribed in the provision as mentioned above.

Admission to Honours Course

(a) Admission to Honours Class is not made at the time of admission to +3, 1st year class. All the admissions into +3, 1st year class is made against the Pass (General) Course of Arts and Science without allotment of Honours. After admission is over a freshmerit list is prepared among the students admitted in the Pass (General) course possessing qualifying marks for admission to Honour. Admission to Honour Class is made on the said fresh merit list according to, seats available as follow.

(b) The instructions in details on the procedure of selection on merit basis for admission to Honour Course is given in the Admission Information Booklet/ Prospectus supplied with the Admission Application from c) No fresh admission to Honours course from amongst the Pass (General) students is made in the 2nd or 3rd year of the Degree course.

Dropping of Honours course
(c) A candidate taking Honours Course initially in a subject may choose in writing to drop the Honours course and adopt the Pass course in the same subject at the time of submitting his application for the first Examination or earlier and he/she then appears subsequent examination.
